About Honor Blackman

Honor Blackman (22 August 1925 – 5 April 2020) was an English actress, known for the roles of Cathy Gale in ‘The Avengers, Bond girl Pussy Galore in ‘Goldfinger’, Julia Daggett in ‘Shalako’ and Hera in ‘Jason and the Argonauts’. She is also known for her role as Laura West in the ITV sitcom ‘The Upper Hand’. Blackman’s film debut was a nonspeaking part in ‘Fame Is the Spur’. Her other films include ‘Quartet’, ‘Diamond City’, ‘So Long at the Fair’, ‘A Night to Remember’, ‘The Square Peg’ and many others.

Blackman’s recording with ‘The Avengers’ co-star Patrick Macnee of “Kinky Boots” failed to chart upon its original release but became a surprise hit in 1990; the song peaked at No. 5 after being played incessantly by BBC Radio 1 breakfast show presenter Simon Mayo. After her appearance in Goldfinger, Blackman recorded a full album of songs titled ‘Everything I’ve Got’. Blackman’s final role before her death in 2020 was as an uncredited resident of an old people’s home in the TV series ‘Silent Witness’. Learn More…
