About Theresa Russell
Theresa Lynn Russell (born March 20, 1957) is an American actress whose career spans over four decades. Her filmography includes over fifty feature films, ranging from mainstream to independent and experimental films. Russell began modeling at age 16, which brought her to the attention of film producer Sam Spiegel, through whom, she was cast in Elia Kazan’s ‘The Last Tycoon’.
Over the next 10 years, Russell would star in titles such as ‘Straight Time’, ‘Bad Timing’, ‘Eureka’, ‘The Razor’s Edge’ and ‘Insignificance’ – an experimental film where she portrayed Marilyn Monroe. It was her next film, ‘Black Widow’, however, that garnered her significant commercial attention and attention. Nicolas Roeg cast her in several of his films throughout the 80’s and 90’s, involving her in multiple experimental and feature films.
